Natural grain.
A quieter rhythm.

A practical guide to prefinished wood veneer, from choosing a tone to considering how the grain moves through your room.

Start with the grain.
Consider the whole room.

Explore real veneer finishes and bring your favorite tones into a conversation with your designer.

Explore the Finishes

Real wood. A considered finish.

Shinnoki is DreamLine’s prefinished wood veneer series. Compare the tone, the grain, and the way the finish sits beside the other materials in your home.

01

The grain

Look at the movement and scale of the wood, as well as its overall color.

02

The tone

Compare lighter, warmer, and deeper finishes against your existing materials.

03

The arrangement

Discuss the grain direction and the relationship between neighboring doors and panels.

Veneer Finishes

Three tones. Natural wood character.

Actual panel finishes from the Shinnoki collection. Compare the larger grain pattern and the overall tone before choosing your shortlist.

Look a Little Closer

Think beyond
a single door.

A veneer sample is the beginning of the decision. Look at how the grain could read across a full run of cabinetry, a tall panel, or a built-in.

Ask your designer to explain grain direction, adjoining panels, and edge details. Seeing those choices in the room layout helps turn a finish preference into a complete design.

Plan Your Palette

Let the grain bring it together.

You do not need to arrive with every answer. A few thoughtful comparisons are enough to start a useful design conversation.

01

Choose the direction of the grain.

Discuss vertical and horizontal arrangements with your designer, especially on tall cabinets and long drawer runs.

02

Compare the neighboring materials.

Place your veneer shortlist beside the floor and countertop to judge warmth, contrast, and texture.

03

Resolve the visible edges.

Ask to see how doors, open shelves, and end panels will be finished before approving the design.

Have a few favorites? Bring them together.

Before You Decide

Shinnoki questions, answered.

A few useful details before you turn a favorite finish into a plan.

Is Shinnoki real wood?+
Yes. Shinnoki uses real wood veneer with a prefinished surface. Compare the actual panels to understand the grain and tone of the finish you select.
What does prefinished mean?+
The finish is applied to the veneer at the factory, under controlled conditions, before the panels reach us. There is no staining or spraying in your home, and the finish is consistent across every panel of the same product.
Will the grain look the same on every panel?+
No. Because Shinnoki is real wood veneer, the grain varies naturally from panel to panel, just as solid wood does. The finish keeps the tone consistent, but each panel has its own pattern.
How should I care for the veneer?+
Dust and wipe it with a soft, damp cloth, then dry it. Avoid abrasive cleaners and harsh chemicals, and wipe up spills promptly, especially around the sink.
