Elevated Elegance in Davis, CA: A Hallway Bathroom Remodel by DreamLine Custom Cabinetry

In Davis, CA, a dated hallway bathroom was completely reimagined into a sophisticated and thoughtfully designed space. Completed in May, this project—led by the expert team at DreamLine Custom Cabinetry—combined smart spatial reconfiguration, high-end materials, and beautifully coordinated finishes to deliver a transformation that was both practical and visually striking.

The remodel began with a full demo of the bathroom down to the studs, with the original tub carefully preserved. One of the most impactful changes was the removal of the winged wall that once separated the tub and shower. In its place, a new pony wall was constructed, opening the space and allowing for a more seamless flow and better natural light distribution.

The newly built tile shower base was crafted from Arizona Tile’s S-Series 2” x 6” Herringbone Mesh tile in Halo Grey, laid in a striking herringbone pattern. The same tile was used on the bathroom floor, providing visual consistency and textural contrast. The shower walls, bench, and tub wainscoting were finished in Prestigio Calcatta Lucido 24” x 48” tiles from Elysium, which added a luxurious, marble-like finish and polished elegance to the shower and surrounding surfaces.

For plumbing fixtures, the Moen Align T2192EPBG shower trim was selected, offering a sleek, modern silhouette with a warm brushed gold finish that echoed throughout the space. Lighting was thoughtfully addressed with the installation of two LED can lights and three Moen Iso DN0761BG sconces, which framed the vanity with soft, ambient light. Ventilation was improved with the addition of a Panasonic fan, completing the space with quiet efficiency.

Rather than replacing the vanity entirely, DreamLine opted to reface the existing cabinetry using the SEGUE Painted Wood Veneer Series in the soft, contemporary Cape-May Cobblestone finish. The timeless Shaker door style provided structure and elegance, making the vanity feel completely new. Topped with a stunning 3CM Cambria Smithfield quartz countertop, the vanity was both practical and visually refined. Fixtures included a Kohler Caxton K-20000-0 sink and a Moen Align T6193BG faucet, continuing the cohesive brushed gold accent theme.
